The Quattroporte I boasted a 4.2-litre V8 engine, which could produce up to 256 horsepower. These sleek sedans were also equipped with either a 5-Speed ZF manual transmission or 3-Speed automatic. Between 1963 and 1966 only 230 units of this model were made. In 1966 the Maserati Quattroporte went through a revision receiving new twin headlights and in 1968 a 4.7-litre 295hp engine replaced the 4.2-litre V8, making this car the fastest 4-Door sedan in the world at the time.
