Real Estate Company is currently seeking a Director, Accounting ? G&A & Compensation.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for oversight of internal and external reporting for all compensation, including equity based compensation and G&A related costs. Specific areas of accountability include: Ensuring compensation, including incentive and equity based compensation, is recorded in accordance with GAAP and the Company?s accounting policies, overseeing and performing key control activities to ensure they are performed timely and in accordance to the Company?s documented policies and procedures, managing the G&A budgeting and forecasting process and analysis of budget to actual variances; provide executive level summaries of the same, regulate equity based compensation accounting, including working with 3rd party servicers to maintain the accuracy of equity incentive compensation and deferred compensation databases; assist with dividends, vesting and distributions of equity based compensation, drafting and reviewing disclosures in Forms 10-Q/10-K, assisting with annual Proxy statement process and assisting with annual 401k audit/Form 5500 filing process. Position will be working closely with the VP of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting and the CAO to research and analyze compensation structures to determine appropriate accounting treatment, with CAO to prepare ad hoc analyses for CFO relating to cost and other considerations for proposed compensation structures and with the VP of Taxes to prepare equity based compensation schedules and related tax analysis
Qualifications & Requirements:
B.S. in Accounting, CPA and experience at a Big 4 firm preferred, 7-10 years of accounting experience, including financial reporting experience; real estate & REIT experience preferred, strong team building and interpersonal skills and previous experience with accounting for equity based compensation preferred.
